Mature spermatophore consists of two sections: ejaculatory apparatus (tube and spindle-shaped body) and testicular cord. The ampoule and the rod-shaped body are consequently placed in the front section. The thin filament stretches out of this end. Release of the testicular cord is connected with the action of the releasing mechanism of the back section and abatement of the safety mechanism of the front section of the spermatophore, as well as with ejaculatory apparatus of the tube. Characteristics of the spermatophores of the subspecies E. d. apollyon and E. d. martini are given for comparison.
