ABSTRACT
In early spring of 2015, in the northwestern part of the Black Sea (Ukraine, Odessa Bay, Big Fountain Cape) the brown alga Chorda tomentosa Lyngb. 1819 was found. This kelp is a new invader in the Black Sea and the sole representative of the order of Laminariales Mig. 1909 in this area.
