ABSTRACT

As a result of this scanning electron microscopy study, a rare species, Humidophila schmassmannii, has been discovered for the first time in phytoplankton from waterbodies and water courses in the far north of Western Siberia (the Yamal and Tuzovsky peninsulas). The morphological study has shown that this species has a high variability of the main diagnostic features that justifies a more elaborate description of H. schmassmannii.
