ABSTRACT

An updated annotated check-list of Ceramiales (Rhodophyceae) of the Black Sea was compiled on the basis of original and literature data with regard to taxonomic revisions and nomenclatural changes. It contains 67 species represented by 88 infraspecific taxa, which belong to 27 genera and 4 families. A total of 15 species of Ceramiales were found in the Black Sea for the first time. The largest number of species of Ceramiales was found near the Black Sea coast of Ukraine (48 species and 57 infraspecific taxa) and Turkey (49 species and 58 infraspecific taxa). The distribution and occurrence of new species in the basin of the Black Sea depending on the environmental conditions are discussed.
