New for science species from the genus Hannaea Patrick (Bacillariophyta)
ABSTRACT
As a result of SEM studies of samples from Lake Baikal (Russia) and related water bodies (the Angara River and Bratsk Reservoir), the new species Hannaea baicalensis Genkal, Popovskaya, Kulikovskiy sp. nov. was described. The new species is similar to H. arcus, but differs from it by the presence of biseriate stria, rimoportula on each end of the valve as well as larger valve width.
