ABSTRACT
The paper deals with the method and results of wind tunnel investigations of the Strouhal Number of clusters of circular cylinders. Clusters of two, three and four smooth cylinders of the same diameter were tested in a wind tunnel with the working section 1 ґ 1 m2, within the range of The Reynolds Numbers between 2.8 Ч 104 and 7.4 Ч 104. The distances between axes of cylinders ranged from 1.0D (cylinders in contact, zero gap) to 1.8D. It was assumed that for such distances one vortex street exists behind a cluster. The Strouhal Number was determined using dominating frequency in the flow fluctuation energy spectrum measured behind a cluster.
