Measurement Study on the Surface Pressure of a Square Prism in the Turbulent Boundary Layer Flow

ABSTRACT

In this study, wind tunnel experiments were conducted to investigate the surface pressure of a square prismatic building model under the action of a turbulent boundary layer. Wind induced pressure was measured simultaneously at many points on the model surface. The simulated boundary layer modeled the natural winds over urban terrain at neutral atmospheric condition. The analysis of measurements included the mean, fluctuating, and peak pressure distributions and pressure spectrum on all faces of the model. Wind attack angle effect on pressure distribution is also investigated.
