ABSTRACT

Principal advances in underground detonation dynamics are reviewed. Theoretical and experimental studies of wave processes in soils are elucidated. Mathematical formulations and results of numerical solutions are presented for the underground densifying detonation of a cylindrical infinite charge in a water-unsaturated soil (multicomponent viscoplastic soil with variable viscosity) and a charge of finite length in a water-saturated soil (nonlinear elastic medium).
