Activation of NF-kB under the Metabolic Syndrome
ABSTRACT
The paper examines the formation of evolutionary advanced set of causal factors that may cause new pathological state being implemented through evolutionary fixed typical pathological processes. The analysis of the concept of "metabolic syndrome" and its components has been performed. The author points to the correlation between the insulin resistance, chronic inflammation, hypertension, endothelial dysfunction and dyslipidemia as manifestations of a pathological process, the central molecular basis of which is activation of NF-kB. It has been proposed to formulate the concept of permanent (long-term and low-grade) NF-kB activation as a possible model of a pathological process.
