EXPERIMENTAL STUDY OF NONSTEADY FLOW IN RECIRCULATION ZONE BEHIND ELECTRIC DISCHARGE MODULE
ABSTRACT
The results of the study of nonsteady structure of the flow that was formed in the recirculation zone behind a discharged module of pilot flame are presented. They were obtained with help of the apparatus for high-speed measurements in a supersonic flow at M = 2 and static pressure of about 3.47×104 Pa. The module represented a combination of a hollow screen chamfered toward the flow that was installed, for example, on the wall of a combustion chamber and an electrode system for discharge generation in the rear recirculation zone. The fuel was supplied under the screen. The comparative investigations of the discharge burning in this zone at the supply of propane and kerosene in the module were carried out with help of a high-speed camera. The time of the development of plasma−chemical processes in the recirculation zone was estimated on the basis of the results of the experiments for kerosene at different frame exposure. The drop motion velocity in this zone was estimated on the basis of the kerosene drop track length and the frame exposure time. The data of an emission intensity distribution of plasma−chemical reaction products in the recirculation zone and the change of this intensity in time were obtained for kerosene.
