The Computation and Experimental Approach to Analysis of Service Life and Temperature of Gas-Turbine Blade Protective Coatings
ABSTRACT
The improved physical and mathematical models of mass transfer processes in metal MCrAlY coatings which describe aluminum oxidation and diffusion processes in the coating-blade alloy system are presented. The computation and experimental approach to estimation of service life and average local operating temperatures of coatings based on the proposed model and solution of diffusion inverse problems by the data of experimental measurements of aluminum-oxide film thickness and aluminum concentrations in the coating and base alloy is considered. The comparison of calculated and experimental distributions of aluminum concentrations in the coating and base alloy, as well as the results of determination of the coating service life and testing of the technique for determination of average local operating temperatures of coatings are presented.
