ABSTRACT

The paper is dealt with a possibility of applying the concept "homeostasis" in studies of epiphytic algae communities in the Dnieper reservoirs. It has been shown that in polydominant communities of epiphytic algae with a high species richness fluctuations in the total biomass are "smoothed out", which makes it possible to maintain homeostasis.
