ABSTRACT
Biocenosis Modiolus adriaticus inhabiting mainly the sandy-silt bottom sediments within the depth 10−36 m in the Kerch pre-strait of the Black Sea have been studied. Maximal values of zoobenthos number and biomass have been registered within the depth 25−30 m. Level of the dominant species aggregation depends to a great extent on the availability of the substrate appropriate for settling. As a result of anthropogenic impact biocenosis was found to be considerably destroyed.
