ABSTRACT

Results of comprehensive studies on zooplankton of the pelagic zone of the Kanev reservoir, including its biodiversity, sources of influx, horizontal distribution, and long-term dynamics, are presented. It has been found that the waters of the Kiev reservoir are the main source of the influx of zooplankton into the Kanev reservoir. For the most part, the maximum quantitative indices of the development of this community were observed in the upper section of the studied reservoir. It was concluded that inter-annual fluctuations in the development of zooplankton registered at the present time are indicative of its normal functioning.
