Component communities of parasites of 47 fish species and subspecies of Lake Baikal were studied. On the basis of values of the biological diversity indexes they were characterized as mature or immature component communities. Obtained results served as a basis for the communities' classification by combination of the specialists and generalists species (specialists and generalists species number, share of their specimens, dominant species). Based on these data all theoretically possible variants of the specialists and generalists species combinations for the mature and immature parasite communities were considered. It was stated that theoretically possible number of variants of the mature component communities is twice as much than immature. State of the parasite communities depending on the depth of fishes occurrence, their feeding type, systematic position and faunal complex has been assessed.
