ABSTRACT

V. I. Vernadsky was the first who applied biogeochemical methods in studies of the natural radioactivity, carried out radiogeological researches and revealed role of radioactive elements in biohydrosphere. Results of these studies were of essential importance for solution of practical tasks, connected with search for uranium ores. Development and wide distribution of the nuclear technologies, development of the nuclear energy sector, accidents in the enterprises with nuclear technologies and nuclear weapon testing led to wide distribution of the biologically hazardous radionuclides in biosphere. This conditioned urgency of the system radioecological researches of the terrestrial ecosystems, surface water bodies and the World Ocean, and necessity to solve urgent issues of the global hydroecological and radioecological safety.
