First Record of Ranatra linearis (Hemiptera, Nepidae) in Hypersaline Water Bodies of the Crimea

ABSTRACT

Information on the first record of Ranatra linearis (Hemiptera) at the value of salinity of 110 g/L is given in the paper. Mass development of predators of the family Corixidae was observed at salinity of 100−120 g/L in hypersaline water bodies of the Kerch Peninsula (the Crimea). A brief review on the distribution of Hemiptera in hypersaline water bodies of the world, and also on their ecological role, is given in the paper.
