ABSTRACT

The state of various rivers of the Pripyat' and Teterev basins was assessed in terms of structural and functional indices of phytoplankton development: species, taxonomic, and information diversity, numbers, biomass, primary production, production-decomposition ratio, and saprobic index. Hydrophysical and hydrochemical characteristics were also studied. The obtained results can be used in monitoring river ecosystems using basin principle.
