ABSTRACT

A brief historical review of the study of meiobenthos of the Black sea is presented. An analysis of literature data (1880-1998) made it possible to distinguish three stages in the study of meiobenthos of the Black Sea: faunistic, faunistic and chorological, and ecological and faunistic. The part played by Ukrainian scientists in the development of a new direction of marine hydrobiology is great.
