ABSTRACT
The efficiency of the three methods of m-parallel record retrieval in a sequenced file for use with a multiprocessor system, namely m-parallel serial search and two implementations of m-parallel block search, is analyzed for certain types of distribution (uniform, Zipf, generalized and binary) of record retrieval probabilities.
