EXCITATION OF AN ELECTROMAGNETIC FIELD PULSE IN THE MAGNETODIELECTRIC CYLINDER
ABSTRACT
The present solution is for a problem of diffraction of an electromagnetic pulse with a Gaussian envelope on the isotropic magnetohydrodynamic circular cylinder of infinite length having complex magnetic permeability. The influence of cylinder electrodynamic parameters on the amplitude-time (frequency) dependence of the magnetic strength component of the pulsed electromagnetic field induced inside the cylinder is investigated. A semiempirical estimate of the cylinder finite length influence on the general properties of the electromagnetic filed induced inside the cylinder is obtained.
