EFFICIENCY TESTING OF BIOLOGICALLY SIGNIFICANT EFFECTS OF MILLIMETER WAVES
ABSTRACT
Extremely high frequency (EHF, f = 30...300 GHz) electromagnetic radiation is frequently used in medicine both for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes. The effects of low- and super-low level fields are also considered as being non-thermal, in which thermal behaviour of biological object remains almost unchanged (Δt ≤ 0.1°C). EHF autohemotherapy is one of the physiotherapeutic techniques, whereby blood is exposed to millimetre electromagnetic irradiation for a therapeutic purpose. The efficiency evaluation of the treatment is proposed to perform by tracing electrophoretic mobility of nuclei in buccal epithelium cells, specifically their electronegativity (ENN). Here we described the results of experimental observations to assess a treatment efficacy by conventional therapy as well as combining with EHF autohemotherapy in patients with neurological disorders. Our preliminary study showed that ENN% index may be useful to show the effects of EHF autohemotherapy at cellular level.
