This paper describes experimental and analytical work on kinematic wave phenomena in two-phase flows. The main topics are the properties of these waves and the main focus is on the corresponding modeling problems.

This paper describes analytical work on one-dimensional modeling of two-phase flows. The main focus is on discussing modeling strategies, in particular with relation to propagation phenomena. The "drift flux" approach, with suitable generalization, and the "two-fluid" approach are put in perspective.
