Scattering characteristics of a rectangular waveguide section with two uneven rectangular posts located within a certain transverse cross-section of the waveguide are analyzed. The structure is shown to possess two full-reflection resonances whose frequencies and Q-factors can be controlled independently.

Electrical properties of the magnetic fundamental mode H111 within the waveguide-coaxial resonator (WCR) are investigated in the paper. There are obtained calculation dependencies of eigen frequencies and Q-factor values of H111 -mode upon geometrical parameters of the resonator for different values of the relative permittivity of the material filling the coaxial part of WCR. The experimental research results are provided for the 3-cm band WCR model. A good match between the results of calculations and the experimental data is attained.

Influence of dissipation in the semiconductor substrate of the periodical semiconductor-dielectric layered structure on the pass band contour of the eigen waves is investigated. It is shown that consideration of the dissipation gives rise to the occurrence of the turning of dispersion curves for the electromagnetic waves propagating in such a structure. At the same time the minimum value of the phase velocity is limited. It is found that when the collision frequency value is large one of the band edges in the region of cyclotron waves is degenerate, i.e., the "zone destruction" takes place.

The electron tunneling through a non-stationary tunnel barrier is investigated within an approximation of low amplitude of a variable electric field. The usability conditions of applicability of a mode of the single-quantum transition through a non-stationary potential barrier are specified. The density dependence of a high-frequency electron current through a barrier on the frequency and the applied direct bias voltage is considered. It is shown that the active part of the high-frequency electron current density can be negative at the over-barrier electron passage through a barrier.

The present paper gives an outline of classified results obtained at a Specialized Acoustic Laboratory (SAL) under the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. The aim of the study is to get an appropriate insight into the physical nature of the sound timbre phenomenon of old-time "italian" violins. A unique method for the formant analysis of spectrum-complicated signals of wide-range oscillatory systems is proposed. A holographic technique was used to set up oscillation modes in the bodies of a violin or a viola with tightened strings. The physical properties of the "italian" tone quality of Cremona violins have been revealed and formulated and a basic reference standard (BRS) of this particular sound timber has been developed. The research data have been generalized to a broad class of oscillatory systems and passed a professional evaluation test.
