On the basis of asymptotic averaging method an approximate analytical solution of the integral equation for a magnetic current in slot radiators and coupling apertures of electrodynamic volumes has been obtained. Formulas have been given for currents and scattering (radiation) characteristics of longitudinal and transverse slots in a broad wall of a rectangular waveguide. A comparison with the results obtained by a numerical method has been carried out.

Frequency dependence of phase reflection coefficient of a microstrip periodic grating of undulated strips is numerically investigated by means of the method of moments. The possibility of using of such structure as a high-impedance surface is shown. The influence of change in shape of the strips and in the parameters of dielectric substrate on the frequency characteristics of the grating is analyzed for the case on normal incidence of a plane electromagnetic wave. The possibility of electronic control of the grating characteristics is demonstrated.

The algorithm have been elaborated for calculation of a generalized wave-scattering matrix by the flat finite-thickness multi-element screen with rectangular waveguide channels. The frequency dependence of reflection factor of a plane electromagnetic wave that is normally impacted upon a two-element screen, have been studied. Wide and narrow walls of rectangular waveguide channels are mutually parallel. The high-Q resonances of total passage and reflection which are similar to “cutoff mode” resonances have uncovered. It is shown that the change in geometrical dimensions of the screen prowids a possibility to obtain the resonances at quite definite frequencies.

Different lines of attack on the problem of development of MM-wave frequency-stabilized oscillators based on semiconductor diodes and transistors have been investigated. The self-locked excitation, frequency multiplication, and synchronization by subharmomc signal modes of operating are discussed. Relations of frequency similarity, which give the opportunity to estimate the accessible characteristics of frequency stability in wavelength range were estimated. A comparative analysis of stabilizing characteristics have been performed for diode and transistor oscillators of the investigated kinds.

The paper presents the experimental research results for a low-noise non-cooled parametric amplifier intended for implementation as an input stage of 60 GHz band receivers. The electrodynamical properties of the oscillation system, in which the coaxial waveguide resonator was used as the idler frequency loop, were studied. The experimental research results for the models of amplifiers, which were executed using the Schottky chip diodes are provided. The gain value was 16 dB within the 1 GHz bandwidth and the electric adjustment range was 6 GHz.

Mechanisms of electron-wave interaction in millimeter wave multiresonator magnetrons are studied. The data obtained by means of the developed theoretical model are compared with the results of experimental study of some magnetrons. Based on the comparison results it was conclude that the probable mechanism of interaction between electron flow and electromagnetic waves in millimeter wave multiresonator magnetron consists in the large-orbit and small-orbit modes of drift-orbital resonance.

An optimal algorithm of detection of signals against the background of additive noise having Erlang's distribution of а k-th order, is suggested. Analytic expressions for likelihood ratio and probabilistic characteristics of detection are obtained. Curves of detection are plotted on the basis of these expressions. A functional diagram of a quasioptimal detector is proposed.

The synchronizing signal property with data being transmitted through synchronous telecommunication (TC) systems is shown to be of certain significance. An influence of errors introduced by the operations of synchronous group-forming algorithm upon the quality of a synchrosignal is considered and mathematical expressions describing this quality are derived. It is suggested that mathematical simulation of the effect the locking signal property has upon the decision-making process should be carried out using the magnitude of temporal mismatch. For the case of rare slips in the transmission system a number of mathematical relations is derived, which specify the probability of bit errors for both types of receiving devices. A problem on formalization and mathematical description of the synchronous group-forming algorithm is stated.

We have concretized quasioptimal (in Gaussian approximation) algorithms of filtering of continuous accompanying parameters and decision rule of the discrete information parameter dedication for the signal with M-positional frequency-shift keying (MFSK). The signal is received against a background of frequency-modulated (FM) interference and Gaussian noise. In contrast to [1], the case of double-channel observation has been considered.

Main techniques are considered for optimization of video camera operation and preliminary processing of images of mobile objects obtained under complicated conditions of video surveillance as well as the method of image synthesis of contrast objects. The results of morphological filtering application for improving the signal-to-noise ratio and obtaining contour preparations of objects are presented. The attributes allowing segmentation of objects at the complicated background, are provided. The methods of considering the motion of objects - optical flow and motion energy - are described. The algorithm for automatic defining of the motion detection threshold is suggested. The classification and comparison analysis of methods for tracking of mobile objects are given. The drawbacks of the methods based on correlation and motion energy are considered. The algorithm is suggested and the advantages of the method based on segmentation of objects into the motion layers are demonstrated.

On the basis of a two-dimensional model we have estimated the possibilities of usage of the combination of the modal method, physical optics method, and edge wave method for calculation of scattering cross section (SCS) for cavities having a homogeneous cross-section. The solution obtained on the basis of these methods has been compared with the solution obtained on the basis of strong integral equations method. We have determined the requirements for cavity dimensions for which the calculation of cavity SCS is possible on the basis of the mentioned combination of the methods.

The basic concepts of behavior blocking technology, its distinction from standard antivirus methods and intrusion detection systems are considered. The proposed model of the behavior blocking system (BBS) is described. To execute this particular model a standard version for “Windows” protection is extended to a discretion control model with an isolated access. Based upon the above model and by adding higher-level models a special-purpose system is being designed, which is capable to turn the various types of well-known and hitherto unknown harmful applications, of blocking their effects and destroying them.

The algorithm of decoding and the basic aspects of practical realization of M-position turbocodes are described. The results of modeling the operation of codices of 2-position and 4-position turbocodes in the Gaussian channel are demonstrated. In terms of the results from using the half-Markov process theory a simulation statistical model of the “clear-sky” reflection has been developed. The paper presents some experimental data on three-millimeter radio signal fluctuations while propagating over sea surface. The amplitude fluctuations and arrival angles of the direct and reflected signals have been statistically analyzed. The matching between the experimentally obtained amplitude fading probabilities and theoretical laws has been examined. The dependences between certain surface characteristics and signal fluctuation nature have been investigated. The correlations between signals in the amplitude and the corner channels of the direction finder for point targetd have been explored. Experimental results on the amplitude and angular fluctuation spectra at sea and on land have been analyzed. A record of the average and fluctuation errors of the finders is presented.

A design for robust and less complex GPS satellite signal acquisition system using fast lifting wavelet decomposition is proposed. Acquisition in GPS system is used to calculate the code phase (or shift) and find the pseudo-range, which is used to calculate the position. The level of GPS receiving equipment system noise determines in part how precisely pseudo-range can be measured.
A substitute algorithm for calculating the convolution by using fast lifting wavelet decomposition is proposed in order to carry out a robust less complex GPS signals acquisition system and to facilitate its implementation with maximum of accuracy in the presence of noise.
Simulation is used for verifying the performance which shows that the proposed scheme based fast lifting wavelet transform outperforms the FFT search scheme in the presence of an hostile environment.

The paper deals with the theoretical investigation of edge magnetoplasmons in an array of two-dimensional gas strips, consisting of a finite number of strips, arranged at an equal distance from each other and placed into an external magnetic field. Two types of arrays of two-dimensional gas strips are under consideration: an ordered array of two-dimensional gas strips with equal electron concentrations in all strips and a weakly disordered array of two-dimensional gas strips, which is characterized by the fact that the electron concentration of one defect strip differs from that of other strips. It is shown, that the edge magnetoplasmon spectrum contains an infinite number of modes, which differ from each other by the distribution of the electromagnetic field applied across the strips. The anomalous dispersion of the edge magnetoplasmons of higher modes in a long-wavelength region is predicted. The existence of edge magnetoplasmon local modes of each kind, properties of which differ from properties of other modes of edge magnetoplasmons, is shown for the case of the weakly disordered array of two-dimensional electron gas strips. In the case where the defect strip is arranged inside the array of strips, the existence of edge magnetoplasmon modes, the frequencies of which do not depend upon the parameters of the defect strip, is predicted.

Transition radiation by a non-relativistic electron bunch that crosses an interface of a vacuum/left-handed material has been theoretically investigated. The electron density of the bunch is described by the Gauss distribution. It is shown that as a result of the transition radiation both bulk and surface electromagnetic waves can be excited in the frequency region where the refractive index of the left-handed medium is negative. At the same time the dispersion of the surface electromagnetic waves can be negative as well as positive, depending on the relation between the plasma frequency and the resonance frequency of a left-handed material. The energy flows of the surface and bulk electromagnetic waves have been calculated.

Problems of decrease of loss in a parametric two-circuit amplifier trough the use of dielectric inserts with the inclined edges as a resonant circuit of no-load frequency are considered in the study. Results of electrodynamic simulation of oscillatory processes in a dielectric insert in a rectangular waveguide are represented. Experimental amplitude and noise characteristics of the breadboard model of the parametric amplifier realized on the basis of the considered filter are given. Within the range of 60 GHz the amplification factor has been obtained no less than 12 dB over a half-power bandwidth of 1.2 GHz with a noise temperature of 550 K.

Non-stationary theory of spatial harmonic magnetrons with cold cathode has been suggested. The principal idea at derivation of the magnetron mathematical model is use of equivalent circuit of a magnetron oscillating system in the form of a closed chain of connected nonlinear oscillators. The representation of the magnetron oscillating system in the form of the equivalent circuit describes all the TEn1 -modes taking into account of formation of doublets as well as allows studying of non-stationary processes.

Using the temperature dependence of a specific resistance of platinum, relation of a complex index of refraction with a specific conductivity in the long-wave approach, temperature dependence of coefficient of heat exchange of the bolometer with an environment and the solution of a heat-balance equation averaged along the bolometer length, we derive a transformation coefficient of a thin-wire bolometer within a wide range of the continuous laser power at a wavelength of 10.6 microns.

The approach to estimation of complex dynamic phenomena by methods of the catastrophe theory is suggested. We have designed algorithms and software tools which allow one to carry out a graphical plotting of bifurcation sets of canonical forms. The complex topological structures represented in the form of graphical images have been reduced to a matrix form. The study considers the ways of extension of admissible ranges of distortion of shape and frequency of tone oscillations which are extracted in a voice by means of the correlation method. We have described an algorithm of estimation of instantaneous values of quasi-periods of sound vibrations on the areas of voiced phonemes. This algorithm insures sufficiently high reliability of extraction of a fundamental tone.

Analysis of efficiency of noise immunity coding in channels with discrete frequency-aggregate signals is carried out. It is shown that there exists a possibility to increase efficiency for noise immunity coding in channels with multiple-position signals. Here, presentation of such systems on the basis of cascade codes is a productive tool.
