Published information on the behaviour of gas/liquid flows dividing at junctions has been reviewed. The material is considered in terms of the flow patterns approaching the junction. The review considers both new material and reassesses previously published work. Consideration of the comparisons of predictions and experimental data shows that the models are not yet adequate to handle all situations. It is suggested that this could be not just to deficiencies in the models but because of as yet inadequate models for the gas/liquid flow approaching the junction.
