RÉSUMÉ

Self-Exciting Mode Oscillating-Flow Heat Pipe (SEMOS HP) is a new type of heat transfer device, which has an excellent heat transfer performance. In this paper, two methods are proposed to enhance the heat transfer of the SEMOS HP: 1.Pulse heating is adopted instead of conventional continuous heating. 2. Tube with non-uniform cross-section is introduced to improve the heat transfer performance of heat pipe in operation. Experiments on the effects of the two methods are carried out in comparison with ordinary SEMOS heat pipe. And the experimental results indicate that using the pulse heating and the non-uniform cross section channel can improve the oscillating process and the heat transport performance in the SEMOS HP.
