RÉSUMÉ
The main purpose of this study is to determine heat losses for the case of combined free and forced convection inside an isothermal cavity.
The test device is a cubic cavity opened on one side and kept at constant uniform temperature by the means of the regulation system of the electric heating. Due to its modular design, geometry and size of the cavity can be varied.
In the results, correlations among Grashof, Reynolds and Nusselt numbers is presented, with the angles of attack and inclination as parameters. Local distribution of convective heat transfer coefficient is shown on the computer designed map of the cavity.
