SELF-SIMILAR SOLUTION OF TURBULENT BOUNDARY LAYER WITH INJECTION
RÉSUMÉ
The application of self-similarity to boundary layers allows easy solutions and better understanding of the boundary layer, as well as a better organization of experimental results. Self-similarity of incompressible laminar boundary layers is an essential tool since the early days of boundary layer research. However, self-similar solution of turbulent boundary layers are not known because the inner viscous sub-layer grows at a different rate from the outer part of the turbulent boundary layer, and the length scales of the two layers are not identical. In previous work necessary (but not sufficient) conditions for such solutions were found (e.g. for boundary layers with suction, and for turbulent wall jets). In the present paper the existence of such solution is explored numerically. Such solutions rae presented and discussed.
