Résumé

This document describes briefly the homotopy route via which the Hairpin Vortex Solutions (HVS) were recently discovered. The bifurcation sequence starts from the geometrical configuration that is applicable to lateral heating in a vertical channel of infinite extent. Such a system has been studied before and in this note we expose its connection to the turbulent ubiquitous structure of the HVS.
