REMOVAL OF PHOSPHATE ION BY CO-PRECIPITATION FROM WASTEWATERS
page 5
RÉSUMÉ
The present paper refers to the removal of phosphate ion by precipitation-coagulation. Ferric chloride and ferrous sulphate were used as coagulating agents and calcium hydroxide as neutralizer. The optimum conditions were set up for maximum separation and minimum residual concentrations in phosphate and iron ions. The mechanism of the phosphate ion removal pointed out that hydroxylapatite was the main component of the precipitate.
