Estimate the flow rate caused by high-rise building walls natural convection in urban canopy layer
RÉSUMÉ
The natural convection wall flows along a high-rise building were measured in the Chinese Guangzhou city. The correlation between the vertical velocity along the wall and temperature difference (temperature difference between wall surface and ambient air) was obtained. The boundary layer along the wall has two-layer structure. The inner viscous layer is dominated by viscous force and the flow is laminar. The outer turbulent layer is dominated by buoyancy force and shear stress.
The diurnal change of mean vertical velocity calculated by the equation obtained from two-layer structure theory agrees well with the measured values. The flow rate caused by natural convection at the building height was estimated.
