RÉSUMÉ

The operating state of a piping system is typically unknown in industrial plants. The analysis of piping systems is necessary to acquire knowledge about the operation conditions in cases of damages or repairs. The basis for numerical simulations of piping systems are the fundamental laws of mass continuity, and energy conservation. A system of coupled non-linear equations needs to be solved. Linearization of these equations is required, and an iteration scheme needs to be developed. The basic piping system data and operating conditions are provided as input data to the computer and are analyzed. Subsequent analyses can be made for different operating conditions or for changes in the piping system.
