ASTM G76 erosion tests were carried out in air jet erosion testing machine using hot air at 500°C. The erosion rate of uncoated and coated samples is evaluated at 30°, 60° and 90° erodent impact angles to observe the performance of the coating. SEM and XRD examinations are carried out to analyze the mechanism of erosion. The results revealed that the coating protects the substrate at 30°, 60° and 90° impact angles, particularly high noticeable improvement at 90°. The wear rate of the TiC-Al2O3 coated SS316 is lower than uncoated SS316. PB Begell House LK https://www.dl.begellhouse.com/journals/57d172397126f956,486126e71d651f33,7f6a96c07006a85b.html
