According to the traditional technology, the working parts of the segments (lateral sides with notches) are heated in high-frequency current apparatus and cooled in mineral oil, which leads to weak tensile stresses at the lateral segment sides. If the segments are cooled by strong water jets, while the bases of the segments are heated, high compressive stresses preventing quenching cracks appear at the lateral sides. The radically new technology of quenching the segments is proposed. PB Begell House LK https://www.dl.begellhouse.com/journals/46784ef93dddff27,27da601e47fce063,7d27d77b5992b1fe.html
