RT Journal Article ID 526acbe3437a717c A1 Evseev , Aleksei R. T1 Liquid Film Thickness Measurement by the Fiber-Optical Probe JF Heat Transfer Research JO HTR YR 1998 FD 1998-12-01 VO 29 IS 6-8 SP 535 OP 543 K1 Fiber optics; measurement techniques; liquid films AB On the basis of fiber-optical probes (FOP) of the reflecting type a measurement technique of amplitude-frequency characteristics of liquid film thickness has been developed. The elaborated FOP probes have the spatial resolution less than 0.2−0.3 mm, time resolution − less than 10−3−10−4 s, and high measurement accuracy (1−2)%. The static, dynamical and angular FOP characteristics are delivered. The liquid nitrogen film thickness measurements have been conducted at an inaccessible location. The fiber communication line is 10 m length. The experimental data agree well with capacitance measurements which were performed simultaneously.
