AB Results of a study of decomposition of several hydrocarbons (&#1057;&#1053;&#1057;l<sub>3</sub>, CCl<sub>4</sub>, &#1057;<sub>6</sub>&#1053;<sub>5</sub>&#1057;&#1053;<sub>3</sub> and CH<sub>4</sub>) in their mixtures with air in a microwave torch plasma are presented. Concentrations of hydrocarbons in their mixtures with air were 0.5-18 %. It was found that the microwave torch plasma fully decomposes hydrocarbons. The energy cost of decomposition of 1 mole of the hydrocarbon, as resulted from this experiment, is about a few kWh.
