T1 Kinetics of Boiling-up of a Gassed Liquid JF Heat Transfer Research JO HTR YR 2007 FD 2007-05-15 VO 38 IS 3 SP 211 OP 221 AB A theory of the spontaneous boiling-up of supersaturated liquid solutions, which allows for all major factors limiting growth of a nucleus, such as volatility of solution components, viscous and inertial forces, and diffusional supply of a substance to the bubble, is proposed. Two approaches to determining the work of critical nucleus formation, based on the Gibbs method of diving surfaces and the Van der Waals theory of capillarity, are reviewed. Experimental data on the kinetics of boiling-up of nitrogen-helium and oxygen-helium solutions are presented. The results of the experiments are compared to the theoretical approaches to the problem of nucleation in gassed liquids, developed by the authors.
