Effect of K2Cr2O7 on the photosynthetic activity and mobility of Euglena gracilis Klebs cells

RÉSUMÉ

The effect of K2Cr2O7 in concentrations 0.05-135 mg/L on physiological characteristics of highly-saprobe green alga Euglena gracilis Klebs was studied. Methods of differential fluorometry and laser-doppler spectrometry were used for study of dynamics of changes in chlorophylls concentration, level of potential photosynthetic activity, and also the rate and energy of cell mobility of Euglena gracilis Klebs depending on duration of contact with potassium bichromate (1; 4 and 7 days). It was revealed that degree of chromium toxicity sufficiently depends both on concentration of acting element and time of the contact: its prolongation leads to notable increasing of toxicity.
