Physiological Aspects of Analysis of Heart Rate Variability Parameters in Adolescents with Latent Hypothyroidism
RÉSUMÉ
We investigated indices of heart rate variability (HRV) in both adolescents with latent hypothyroidism and their healthy peers, and correlation of those indices with indicators of thyroid system (hormonal status, dimensions of the thyroid gland, median of ioduria). It has been determined that after restriction of iodine provision autonomic dystonia occurs with the weakening of the activity of the sympathetic part of the autonomic nervous system, which is accompanied by narrowing the range of adaptive possibilities of the body, depletion of regulatory effects compared with healthy children. Analysis of HRV parameters after their correction by iodide-100 ascertained a decrease in the influence of parasympathetic part of the autonomic nervous system on the heart rate control and stabilization of its sympathetic component. The correlation relationship has been found between the content of thyroid hormones (total triiodothyronine, T3, and free thyroxine, FT4) in the serum and HRV parameters. Such trend emphasizes the essential role of T3 and FT4 to ensure the functional ability of the autonomous nervous system in adolescents. Pathophysiological patterns of HRV autonomic profile in children with latent hypothyroidism have been grounded.
