VALIDATION OF THE MODEL OF A SPHERICAL SEGMENT DROPLET ON SOLID SUBSTRATE

RÉSUMÉ

A theoretical static spreading model of a spherical segment droplet was built in this work. It is an equation with droplet equilibrium radius, height, and other parameters, such as the surface tension coefficient and contact angle deduced by a mechanical balance of a droplet on a flat plate. The experimental results obtained for the droplet were compared with theoretical solutions. It is indicated that the model can be more accurately applied to droplet and validate its shape. At last, the effects of droplet physical parameters on the static spreading diameter were quantitatively analyzed. It can be believed that the expression for the radius and height given in this paper can lay a good theoretical foundation for studying the dynamic processes of droplet impacting on a flat plate.
