RÉSUMÉ
Gas velocities, spray geometries, and liquid distributions have been measured in sprays from nozzles and centrifugal atomizers, Results are analyzed and compared to theoretical predictions using a one-dimensional flow model. The model describes the spray characteristics accurately in the vicinity of the nozzle, where liquid velocities are high, but fails to account for the eddy diffusive expansion observed for both nozzle and wheel sprays at distances beyond 0.5 to 1 m.
