CONCEPTION OF A THRUST REVERSING–VECTORING APPARATUS OF CASCADE TYPE WITH NUTATING VANES

RÉSUMÉ
The conception of a thrust reversing–vectoring apparatus consisting of several segments with nutating vanes is proposed for a turbofan engine. The mass flow and thrust characteristics are computed for vane cascades with different exit angles in the range of Mach numbers of the incoming flow, M∞ = 0–0.3, for two types of profiled vanes, namely, with curved and direct profiles. Three operational regimes of the reversing–vectoring apparatus are considered, namely, the reversing mode, the mode with transversal thrust regulation and other zero thrust components, and the mode with longitudinal thrust and variable transversal thrust.
