STRENGTH ESTIMATION OF METAL-COMPOSITE MULTIPLE ROW JOINTS

RÉSUMÉ

The results obtained on four types of multiple-row metal-composite joints with cover plates and fasteners of various thicknesses and diameters are analyzed using standard and improved (modified) calculation methods for load distribution on the fasteners and the strength of the joints. The load-bearing capacity of joints is determined by a modified calculation methodology based on the Nuismer criterion. It was found out that for all joints the differences between the calculation results and the experiment were 14%-26% using this criterion. It is desirable to use a modified scheme of the Nuismer criterion to improve the calculation convergence of the load-bearing capacity and the experimental data. In this case, the maximum difference between the calculation results and the experimental data for the considered joints was 12.9%.
