EXPERIMENTAL AND ANALYTICAL STUDY OF A TWO-STAGE LIGHT-GAS MAGNETOPLASMA LAUNCHER FOR BALLISTIC TESTS UNDER VACUUM CONDITIONS
RÉSUMÉ
This paper presents results of experimental and analytical study of a two-stage light-gas magnetoplasma launcher. An optical method has been developed and used in tests to measure the velocity of small bodies (2−10 mm in diameter) accelerated by a combined gas-discharge launcher. The experimental data are in good agreement with a mathematical model of a two-stage light-gas gun in an approximation of constant accelerating pressure for a projectile.
