RÉSUMÉ
In the experiment a possibility of application of the plastic passive-type traps "AST" [2, 3] of different configuration for study of the environmental factors' effect on behavior of juvenile specimens of two fish species: guppy (Poecilia reticulata Peters), inhabiting water thickness, and benthic catfish (Corydoras paleatus Jenyns) was studied. It was stated that density of fish and spatial distribution of traps are the main factors influencing the traps' catching efficiency. Trap's type and disposition were more significant factors for catfish, and lightness was more significant for guppy. Cylindrical traps were more effective than conical.
