AN IMPROVED DIRECTION OF ARRIVAL ESTIMATION METHOD FOR UNDERWATER TARGETS
RÉSUMÉ
Recent technology advances have shown that compressive sensing (CS) has excellent performance in the direction of arrival (DOA) estimation when the size of data sets is sufficiently less. Nevertheless, when the targets are in the underwater, it is difficult to obtain accurate DOA estimation due to multipath interference which destroy the channel scarcity. Therefore, while aiming for using multipath interference in the underwater, an improved DOA estimation method for underwater targets is proposed. In this paper, the time reversal (TR) theory is introduced into the DOA estimation based on CS. The received signal of sonar sensors is transmitted to the sea again after being time-reversed. The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm TRCS suppresses the clutter caused by multipath distortion and improves the DOA estimation performance in underwater environment significantly.
