Quasi-Optical Bandpass and Bandstop Filters Based on Open Resonators with Polarization Gratings

RÉSUMÉ

Bandpass and bandstop filters for the short-wave part of the millimeter (mm) and submillimeter (submm) wavelength ranges are considered. These filters are based on open resonators fitted with parallel-located reflectors in the form of polarization wire gratings. The main formulas for computing this kind of filters are derived by the polarization scattering matrix method. The performance of the above filters has passed an experimental trial. It is shown that these devices can be used as wave polarization converters, particularly as the linear-to-circular resonance converters.
