Surface Electromagnetic Oscillations in a Semiconductor Sphere

RÉSUMÉ

Spectral characteristics of a semiconductor sphere have been originally studied. It is shown that along with volume high-frequency oscillations, there are surface oscillations in the sphere. Inside the sphere the amplitude of these oscillations exponentially decreases along the radius from the resonator surface. At the large values of the polar index a surface oscillation converts to a surface plasmon existing on a semiconductor plane boundary.
