SINOPSIS

Steady three-dimensional natural convection in a porous box with two opposite vertical walls subjected to constant temperatures (Th > Tc) and other walls insulated, has been numerically simulated employing Darcy-Brinkman-Forchheimer (DBF) flow model. The effects of Brinkman viscous and Forchheimer non-linear inertial terms become significant at higher Rayleigh number, Ra when Da > 10−5 and Fc/Pr > 10−5 respectively. The average Nusselt number value increases with horizontal aspect ratio and becomes constant for ARz > 1
